C-ATCH HALL' S  CANINE  Hand Grenade

1995-2007

We were told by many people that Cannon, Grenade's mother,  would have made an awesome hunter.  I was interested in training for hunt tests, so we chose to breed Cannon into hunting lines.  Grenade's father, Taco, was from proven hunting lines and was proving himself in hunt test trials.  Unfortunately, his master died before he could achieve his hunting title and Taco was given to a family friend who enjoys the sport of hunting.

Grenade was special from the start.  She was the snuggliest Golden I ever had, my 60lb lap dog!  She was extremely willing and a joy to train.  We trained very hard for hunt tests for over three years, then quit because I had my first child and no longer had the time for our daily training sessions.  When my kids became older, we changed to training for agility.  Grenade wanted to please so much and her earlier training gave us a great start.  She completed her C-ATCH , agility trial championship in October of 2006 when she was almost 11 years old.

Grenade's favorite thing to do was fetch.  Frisbee's, paint lids, balls, sticks . . . they were all good!  Her favorite outing was to the lake, where she loved to swim out and retrieve bumpers.  She loved it so much she barked until you threw for her, something she never did at home.  When inside, she loved to snuggle up next to her humans or down in her dog bed if no one was available.

Grenade had a stroke and died unexpectedly in July of 2007.  She was very active and healthy.  Grenade will always hold a special place in my heart.  I picked her the day she was born and loved her every day of her life.  She was my special girl.
